Child deaths spur FDA hearing on cold meds
When Devon Mehlberg-Alvarez was 4 months old, he got a cold. His doctor told Devon's mom to give him an over-the-counter infant cold and cough medicine. She followed the doctor's directions and gave Devon the suggested amount. However, a few mornings later when the she checked on her son, he was dead.
